Worship Ministry
The worship ministry exists to encourage and engage the church and community in worship, particularly through music. There are numerous ways people can use their gifts to serve in this ministry:
Adult Choir
The foundational ensemble of the worship ministry, Lakeside’s choir sings in worship most Sunday mornings, September through May. In addition, they present special programs at Christmas, Easter and at other special events. Both church members and non-members are welcome to join us, but are requested to do so either in September or January. Music reading is not essential, but carrying a tune in a bucket is! Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 6:30-8 PM.
Worship Teams
Small vocal groups that lead worship approximately 1 weekend per month. Open to church members by interview. The primary prerequisite for this ministry is a heart that desires to humbly serve God and His people through the gift of singing. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 8-9 PM in the auditorium.
Worship Orchestra
Plays each Sunday morning for worship, as well as for Christmas, Easter and other special programs. Open to church members and non-members by audition, 9th grade through adult. Orchestra presently rehearses on Sunday evenings in the auditorium.
Ringspiration
Adult handbell choir that performs in worship services several times per year, as well as for special events. Open to adult church members and non-members by interview. Ability to read music is required.
Technical Ministry Team
Consists of technically-minded individuals to run sound, lights/video, and recording for Sunday morning worship services approximately once a month. Open to church members age 18 and older.
Easter Musical
A church-wide ministry which presents a full-scale dramatic musical prior to Easter each year. There are openings for actors, singers, set construction personnel, seamstresses, childcare workers, publicity personnel, etc. Open to church members and non-members alike. Cast auditions are held in the fall, with full rehearsals beginning in January.
